| The Lava Octopus-550 is an extremely dependable communication solutions for a wide variety of applications. The Octopus-550 is ideal for ISPs or any type of RAS system that does not deal with an overwhelming amount of traffic. Features: PCI bus 8-port serial board with a fan-out (octopus) cable - allows user to configure 8 COM ports on the faster PCI bus, at data rates up to 115.2k bps. Each port includes integrated 16-byte FIFO buffer with software configurable Tx/Rx triggers. All eight ports share one PCI bus IRQ - even when accessed simultaneously, saving valuable resources for other expansion cards. The first four of the serial ports have all of the standard serial signals. The last four of the eight serial ports do not include the Ring Indicator (RI) input. Easy Plug and Play installation - automatically configures I/O addresses and IRQs. Ideal for Remote Access Services (RAS). Fully compliant with PCI Specification 2.1. |
